Prayer to Poseidonby Marc Power Lord Poseidon hear our prayer, Take us Lord unto thy care, Listen to the Conchs-shells call,Beside the crystal waterfall Lead us to your marble caves Take us far beneath the waves.Shaker of the Earth and Land,
Lead us naked through the sand, Make us liquid, so that we might seep,Through the darkness of the deep,Your hand rests upon the helm, That we might navigate your realm Lead us to Atlantis gate, To the golden halls of fate, Where the crystal pillars stand, Return us to our motherland, Wavelets break on nameless shores, We'll remain for evermore. Cheer us with your silver laugh, Protect us with your Trident-staff, King of all the shining seas, Enfold us in your Mysteries, Neptune Lord of Oceans vast, Guide us when to you we're cast. Mermaids sit without a care, Tending Aphrodites hair, Salmon seek their ocean home, Venus rises through the foam, In you we are purified, By the swelling of each tide Seaweed strewn, the caverns floor,The sense that we've been here before, All our lives are lived on Earth, The sea's the real place of our birth, Gaze upon Oannes sword, Inside the shrine of the sea lord. Caverns tremble, pillars quake, Our footsteps in Poseidons wake, As if in trance, we know we can, Detect the fish inside the man, The guardians endless vigil keepsGlides on silent, through the deepsThanks to Marc PowerCopyright (C) 1978 Marc Power
